HOLIDAYS and WEATHER: Classes are not offered weekends, evenings, or holidays. In the event of hazardous weather, please call the voice mail at 734-207-5301 prior to class to determine if the class has been rescheduled or cancelled. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS AND CONDUCT: You must be eighteen years of age and have an under- standing of the English language. At all times conduct must meet professional standards. If removed from a class because of unprofessional behavior, no re-admittance is permitted. No credit is allowed for previous education from other sources by our school. The state determines this credit. REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is required and the school reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet enrollment requirements. Tuition must be pre-paid. Checks, money orders, MasterCard, Visa, or Debit cards are accepted. TELEPHONES: Telephones are not available for student use except in the case of an emergency. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Classes and continuing education accepted toward educational requirements for appraiser’s licensing are offered. No placement assistance is provided. The state web site lists are approved courses: www.michigan.gov/commerciallicensing, search for real estate appraisers. INSTRUCTORS: Instructors are selected based upon practical experience and teaching proficiency. Instructor qualifications are on file with the Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Office of Post Secondary Schools. CERTIFICATE: A certificate is provided each participant upon successful completion of a class or seminar. One–hundred percent attendance is required and a passing score on the classes that require examination must be achieved for credit. MAKE UP CLASSES: A participant may not be absent from any of the class time if credit is required. Arrangements can be made to make up the class time in extenuating circumstances. A fee is required for make-up sessions. REFUND POLICY: The tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if the applicant is rejected by the school before enrollment. An application fee of not more than $25.00 may be retained by the school if the application is denied. All tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if requested within three (3) business days after signing a contract with the school. All refunds shall be returned within 30 days. After the three (3) business days have elapsed the following refund policy will apply: students wishing to cancel must do so in writing three (3) working days or more prior to the commencement of a class or seminar. a refund in the amount of seventy-five (75) percent of the tuition will be paid upon the return of all materials issued, or full credit will be given for another class. ELECTRONIC EAUIPMENT: No tape recording is permitted in any class at any time. Cell phones and pagers must be turned off during class. TESTING INFORMATION: Certain classes are tested as required by the State Appraisal Law. A passing grade is required; one retake is permitted at a cost of $25. If the class must be retaken a reduction in the fee will apply. State examinations for Real Estate Appraisers are administered by the State approved testing agency and are given at various locations throughout the State.
